Hermes and the Tool Loop
A language model without tools is a very expensive essayist. Give it a terminal, files, search, and memory, and it becomes a junior operator that does not sleep.
Hermes is that operator. Open WebUI is the glass you look through. You send a request; Hermes plans, calls tools, checks the result, and streams the finish line back into the chat — or into call mode if you are speaking.
This is why we did not just point Open WebUI at a raw model. A raw model cannot hold a working style. An agent can. It can remember how you like briefs written. It can keep context across a session. It can fail a step and recover without asking you to babysit every keystroke.
When you add credit on OpenRouter, you are not buying a new product. You are giving the same agent a stronger brain.
